Custom Guidelines

Gold Coast Africa offers free design support, quick order turnaround, and fast, friendly service.

Custom kente pricing includes all handwoven lettering on each of the two sides of every stole:

• 4 horizontal lines of text
• 7 to 9 characters per line, depending on the width of letters (e.g. I takes less width than W), or
• a single vertical column of 9 letters

Different lettering can be placed on opposite sides.  The hand-weaving process creates block lettering.   6-8 weeks should be allowed for delivery of hand-woven custom stoles, however delivery times are often shorter. Rush import and delivery is available at $5 per stole extra charge.

Machine Embroidery

If you need more lettering flexibility, we can embroider upon our authentic, hand-woven kente stoles.   We use a custom-designed embroidery font with a unique stitch pattern which complements the hand-woven process of traditional kente weaving.   Embroidery pricing can be quoted once we have your design information which can be emailed to us.   Logos and special designs can either be embroidered or afixed with an embroidered patch.  

Free Virtual Stole Drawing

Every order includes free design which culiminates in a drawing that will be used by the weavers to weave your kente stole.   We offer lots of ideas from over 30 years of design and weaving experience to ensure your stoles are aesthetically pleasing. Colors

Colors are difficult to match, and we cannot guarantee color-matching, but the following chart gives a rough idea of colors immediately available. Others may be available on short notice, and virtually any color can be ordered with enough lead time.
